Lewis Hamilton is het weekend perfect gestart door de snelste te zijn in de eerste vrije trainingen van de Formule 1 Grand Prix van Silverstone. Nico Rosberg reed op zijn beurt in VT2 geen meter door een probleem met zijn Mercedes. En zal het nu moeten stellen met de data van rivaal Lewis Hamilton. Max Verstappen had het naar zijn zin en reed een sterke eerste dag. Hij was na VT2 net als teamgenoot Daniel Ricciardo in de topdrie te vinden.
